What is a flipped classroom?
In a traditional classroom setting, students receive instruction at school then practice at home by completing a homework assignment. Unfortunately, many students leave the classroom still unsure of how to do the task and end up practicing imperfectly, hindering their ability to master a standard. A flipped classroom aims to help students grasp concepts more successfully. This method involves teachers sending videos home via QR code, flash drive, or a link. The videos contain the instruction normally found in the classroom, freeing up in-class time for the practice. This allows teachers to observe their students practicing skills and provide instant assistance. Students can watch the lesson multiple times if they are struggling to understand.
Below are examples of our own flipped videos. Please feel free to use them with your own children or in your classroom. We will add more in the future! Do you have a lesson you would like to see? Use the contact form to request a topic and we will add a lesson as soon as possible.
